What Are Some Fun Activities in Binbrook, Ontario?
Binbrook, Ontario, has activities for the small towner:
- Binbrook Little Theater
- Hamilton Public Library
- Binbrook (Niagara Peninsula) Conservation Area
With its smaller size, a road trip to its neighbouring communities is needed to experience any variety. You may also head up into the larger city of Hamilton for additional entertainment options. Binbrook Roads and Surrounding Areas
Benbrook’s heart is at the intersection of 65 and 56; both are the only ways in or out of the city buried within this farming community. Either will connect you with major highways that will take you into Hamilton and to both Lakes.
It is about a 25-minute drive from Binbrook to the Hamilton city center.
Once on the highway, you will begin to notice the changeover from track homes and traffic signals to country living, driving through many farming communities until you hit the edge of town, entering the hustle and bustle of Hamilton.
Once in Hamilton, you have greater access to shopping, eating, and amenities. Other forms of entertainment include Gage Park, Dundurn Castle, and The Hamilton Toy Museum.
Some of Binbrook’s closest neighbourhoods are Mt. Hope, Caledonia, and Stoney Creek, each benefiting the residents of Binbrook.
Mt. Hope
Mt. Hope is a city about 12 kilometres west of Binbrook. It is filled with entertainment, including two golf courses and an amusement park.
First, you have Southern Pines Golf and Country Club, an 18-hole course with dining. Willow Valley Golf Course is just a short drive north on Upper James Street; it also has 18 holes. A mile closer to Hamilton, you will find Cameron Speedway and Amusements; go-karts and paintball are the main attractions at this entertainment facility.
Caledonia
Heading south from Binbrook, just across the Grand River, you find Caledonia. At the end of September, all eyes, ears, and stomachs are on this small community because that is when the Caledonia Fair takes place.
Not only do the fairgrounds host the annual fair, but they host a variety of events throughout the year, from dog shows to car shows to celebrating Canada Day.
Caledonia also has a spooky past, so they host special activities, including a lantern holding haunted history walk during the weekends in October.
Stoney Creek
This coastal community is about 17 kilometres north of the city of Binbrook. It is more or less part of Hamilton, but as far east as you could get from the city’s center before getting into Fifty Point Conservation Area.
Being seaside, there is plenty to do, from Confederation Beach Park to ice skating at Gateway Ice Centre. If you enjoy trail walking, Escarpment Trail takes you up along Albion Falls and has something from novice to the expert trailblazer.
If your car is older and you do not have a loan on it, you might consider dropping the collision coverage. Just be aware that you may not have coverage for damage to your car depending on the circumstances of an accident.
Finally, shop around for auto insurance on occasion. Auto insurers are always looking for ways to lower their premiums. You might find that another insurance company offers a better rate than the one you are currently getting.
