Drivers in Ontario are getting a break on their auto insurance rates thanks to the new pay-as-you-go car insurance plans offered by CAA Insurance. The car insurance option known as CAA MyPace™ is a brand-new auto insurance payment program that allows customers to control and manage their insurance costs.
About CAA MyPace Car Insurance
The CAA MyPace auto insurance payment plan is now available to Ontario motorists. It is the first of its kind in Canada. If you driver fewer than 9,000 kilometres per year, CAA MyPace may be for you. It allows you to buy auto insurance only for the distance you need. Nothing more. The program allows drivers to monitor precisely how much they drive. Their payment amount is based on the number of kilometres driven, allowing low-mileage drivers more control based on their lifestyle.
The program works by using a device that plugs into the car and connects to either a mobile app or web browser. The driver can access these applications to track data on kilometres driven and manage and pay premiums as they are on the go.
Drivers who sign up for the new program will start with a base rate and their first 1,000 kilometres and are then charged for every 1,000 kilometre increment moving forward up to 9,000 kilometres. Once you reach 9,000 kilometres, you will not be charged for any additional kms. There would be a small monthly administrative fee to stay on the program. This fee will put you above the price of our traditional auto insurance policy, so you may wish to discuss options with your Broker.
The unique thing about this pay as you go auto insurance option is you decide when you need to buy more. You can reduce your insurance cost without changing your driving habits. And with Ontario being one of the provinces with the highest auto insurance rates, many drivers are sure to welcome the new auto insurance option and give it a try.
Pay-as-you-go Car Insurance is the Perfect Option for Low-Mileage Drivers
CAA MyPace allows Ontario motorists to have access to the car insurance benefits they need, at a price that works best for their lifestyle. CAA Insurance has offered auto insurance for many years and strongly believes that drivers should have more options when it comes to auto insurance. Many drivers don’t use their vehicles every day. Yet they are paying the same amount for their car insurance as the person who drives to work daily or travels out of town, adding hundreds of miles to their car on a regular basis. The new CAA MyPace auto insurance payment plan helps those drivers who aren’t on the road as much save on their premiums by allowing the insured to only pay for the mileage they accrued over time.
High car insurance rates have been a growing problem for drivers in Ontario, especially for those who are considered low-mileage drivers. Insurance experts agree that this new pay-as-you-go car insurance program is a positive step in the right direction for Ontario motorists, and for Canada.
Why Pay-as-you-go Car Insurance is So Important
Many drivers in Ontario now use public transit to get where they need to be due to the high cost of car insurance in Ontario. But with the new CAA MyPace auto insurance payment program, Ontario drivers can get back on the road and be assured that they will have adequate coverage if they are involved in an accident, all while saving money on their premium at the same time.
