History of Duliban Insurance

In 1976, James Duliban at the age of 54 and following 30+ years working for a local steel manufacturing plant used his life savings to purchase a small Insurance Brokerage in Welland ON called R.F. Seehuber Insurance Agency and renamed it to James Duliban Insurance Brokers Ltd. James was highly respected in the local community for his honesty, integrity and for his reputation of ‘being the hardest worker in the room’. James worked day and night to get his business off the ground and did so using the values and principles he was most known for.
In 1991, James’ son Tom purchased the family business and in time, rebranded it to ‘Duliban Insurance Brokers Ltd’. Tom led the company through rapid change from the hiring of the first employee and a period of growth, and by the acquisition of other like-minded independent brokerages. As a second generation owner, Tom pursued the goal of becoming an Independent Brokerage leader amongst the Niagara Region and to be respected its hometown values and the services provided.
In 2008, Tom’s twin sons Adam and Jason Duliban joined the business on a full-time basis and became leaders of the organization by 2013. Adam and Jason Duliban brought a passion and dedication to scale the business by increasing its product offerings and its trading territories without compromising on the values instilled by previous generations. With this expansion came a renewed focus on technology, data analysis and efficiencies matched with a team first outlook.

Duliban Insurance Brokers continues to be wholly-owned by Adam & Jason Duliban and is a proud third-generation independent insurance brokerage. With a dynamic, driven team of over 100 insurance professionals there is six offices across Southern Ontario. As a strong and united team, we embrace the use of high-level data, technology and digital communications to provide service to make Insurance feel like Home. Duliban Insurance Brokers is now proudly writing insurance across all of Ontario, Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick with a goal to spread its services across Canada.

As a third-generation family business, giving back to our local community means everything to us. We believe we were given the opportunity that we have, to use our careers as a platform to give back to the local community.   Supporting our communities in which we work and live will always remain a core pillar of Duliban Insurance Brokers Ltd. We are extremely proud to use our platform to raise not only considerable funds but to also generate publicity for the deserving charities that make our communities a great place to work and live!  We support social change that contributes to stronger, healthier and more inclusive communities for all. We seek to maximize our resources and our partners to give back to our communities and allocate our team the necessary time to give back to the communities’ greatest needs.

Each Duliban Insurance team member is encouraged to take a paid, Duliban Day to help a deserving charity that is important to them.  If the charity is important to the team member, its important to Duliban Insurance Brokers. As a company we are committed to providing financial support in the form of $1 per policy that is in force and serviced through our brokerage.

Our annual golf tournament, along with our annual 5km fun run, lies at the heart of our philanthropic strategy and has served a number of local organizations since its inception in 2013.
