Protect your hosting journey.
We believe in protecting your rental investment like it’s your own residence, with customized coverage that protects you AND your property.
Rental coverage that’s not one-size-fits-all.
As an Airbnb host in Ontario, you face liability risks that require specialized insurance throughout the duration of your rental. Provide a safe and secure retreat for your guests, and achieve peace of mind with coverage for property damage, vandalism and more.
Why You Need airbnb coverage
Do you need Airbnb coverage?
The simple answer? Yes. Coverage for a rental property includes extra consideration outside of a traditional home policy, given that it’s an income-generating investment and (typically) one offering activities which pose significant risk.
What Airbnb doesn’t cover, we will. Ensure you’ve filled all the gaps before opening your doors to guests.
Airbnb Covers:
Building
The home itself is covered for damages that occur as a result of fire, water, wind and vandalism. If the rental is a unit in a larger building, this coverage protects anything not included in the building corporation’s policy.
Contents
Any items or personal belongings that you keep inside the rental are covered for damage from water, fire, wind, theft and vandalism. Note: there is typically a dollar amount associated with this, and should be customized with a broker to cover higher-value items.
Fair Rental Income
Should the property suffer a loss (fire, flood) and require shutdown to complete the necessary repairs, this coverage will ensure that you are reimbursed the rental income that would have been generated within this time period.
Liability
This protects you, the landlord, in the event of guest injury from which they decide to sue, and will cover all associated legal costs.
Living Expenses
In the event that your rental is also your primary residence and suffers a loss (fire or flood), this covers associated costs including hotel rooms, restaurant meals, storage and other necessary expenses should the damage cause you to live elsewhere.
Other Structures
If your property includes other structures such as a fence, shed, gazebo, pool house or garage, they are protected with the same coverage as your main building.
We Cover:
Furnishings
Damage to the furnishings throughout the property.
Theft
Theft or vandalism on the property.
Injury
Injury to the guests/ renters while on your property.
