The time has arrived when Port Colborne is filled with tourists and families from across the country that come to enjoy one the best combinations of heritage and history.  The four-day festival will celebrate the long history and heritage of the canal and offer its visitors a unique opportunity to explore the decks of Empire Sandy or cruise around in it.

The port has a rich nautical history that helped in development of the town. The festival celebrates the prosperity and development in the region due to marine activities.

What to expect at Port Colborne?

Some famous cruise liners and boats are on display, offering the visitors an adventurous opportunity to explore the seas. Activities on Port Colborne are not limited to marine activities, there are many other attractions offering entertainment for all ages. You can enjoy the kiosks, food stalls, indoor craft shows, market square concerts, fireworks, etc.

Canal Days is known for attracting thousands of visitors each year with more than 400,000 visitors expected in 2017. If you are looking for a family getaway that is full of adventure, Canal Days is the place to be.

Interestingly, there is a lot of history linked to Canal Days and the Niagara River is what divides the United States and Canada. Canal Days offers a unique opportunity to explore Canada’s marine history, its connection to St. Lawrence Seaway and seafaring world.

Port Colborne Canal Days vendors are hospitable and offer a range of products and souvenirs for you to take back home. You can buy mementos such as t-shirts, coffee mugs, caps and other collectibles at affordable prices.

Lighting the Night Skies

One of the biggest attractions of Port Colborne is the fireworks display, lighting the night skies. Last year’s fireworks were remarkable and put on a great show. The interesting thing about Port Colborne is that the list of activities keeps changing year after year. This means that people who have visited the festival in the past can re-visit for a completely different experience.

Canal Days Festival is Port Colbornes signature event – an event every town member rejoices.
